Tool Data for ESPRIT Made Easy

WinTool ESPRIT CAM Interface

Concise Tool Information from Central Tool Database.

Making the process flow smoothly. Precise information for tool setup is crucial. A tool might not be identifiable by its geometry alone, but by material, coating, number of cutting edges, collision dimensions, measuring points, tolerance, etc. Reliable work data for each job in the manufacturing process avoids errors effectively and makes the manufacturing process flow without interruptions, questions from co-workers, tool damages or crashes. With the WinTool ESPRIT interface you integrate your NC programming department with your tool crib, setting-up and machining, and reduce machine holdups as well as labor cost.

Task. The WT ESPRIT interface lets you access the WinTool database directly in ESPRIT. This means that you have access to all information in the tool crib or in the machine magazines on your screen as well as to manufacturer catalogs, tool geometry, and cutting data. Tool lists and documentation are generated automatically from your NC programs.

Advantages. The WT ESPRIT interface makes sure that you use only tools that are available in the shop floor. Time consuming research for tool information such as clarifying the flute lengths, collision points, corner radii, etc., is no longer necessary. You will quickly and accurately filter all suited tools for the job and select the one with the best technology.

Best Practice. With WinTool you keep machine-proven cutting data and other information for your tools and work materials and communicate this valuable know-how effectively to all users. You make your NC-programs run faster and increase tool life.

Turning Tools. Although fewer tools are usually used for turning programs than for milling, the documentation is just as important. May it be the minimal overhang for grooving tools, or the correct zero point when using a form tool, good documentation is the only way to ensure sound tool setup and a reliable production process.

Tool selection in ESPRIT

The WT ESPRIT interface adds an additional toolbar to ESPRIT. You can either access assembled tools one-by-one or entire tool lists. List import is especially useful if you use the same tools for different jobs or if you work with standard tools on your machines. A tool can also be searched by using the WinTool tool classification or other filters, such as geometry or cost centers. The cutting data is being selected directly from WinTool depending on the machining feature in ESPRIT. Generated or altered tool lists in ESPRIT are automatically updated in WinTool.
